I saw a post for this but it got off topic or maybe I misunderstood what the original poster was getting at.
What I am requested in is an option that lets you set up additional reminders for an event. NOW, you have your default setting and you can change these reminder settings for the event but the options are still just a pop up at some point and an email&phone email at another point. I would like to be able to add multiple reminders e.g.: I would like to receive a reminder for an event via email one week in advance, then receive another reminder via email and phone 2 days in advance and then receive an email, phone and pop up reminder on my default setting (1-day) and finally receive a phone email one hour before so I absolutely do not forget this event.
I know this seems like overkill and I know I can basically set this up on my own with multiple events but that's more work and produces clutter.
I was using google calendar and it took them a while but they added this feature and it is really convenient.
Thanks for listening.

mrfooter,

you hit the nail on the head with your suggestion. In outlook for work, I routinely do this manually for certain types of meetings or tasks. I think it would be really good if we had a secondary reminder schedule that was totally programable by the user. SO if you want 10 you can have 10, if you need more or less just add more or add less. Also, it would be awesome if the reminders can also be sent to team members, also in a user programmable way.

For example: at 10 days before task due, reminder only goes to those that need reminding at 10 days out, at the 5 day reminder it could be a totally different set.

Keep those good ideas coming!

We would need atleast 2 reminders. Many a times, we go and buy gifts a week ahead and forgot to wish the person on the dday. Smile
