Hi,

I came in this morning and my iscrybe calendar, which I leave open all the time, had a popup window saying:

. The page at http://iscrybe.com says:

. EmailSystem:user_undefined:::

I clicked OK, and then I got another saying:

. The page at http://iscrybe.com says:

. 256: EmailSystem:user_undefined:::

I clicked OK again, and everything still seems to be working OK.

Just thought you might like to know.

I'm now getting errors saying "Your network connection or the server is not responding as expected at the moment You may be able to continue in a few moments if network communication improves Otherwise you need to refresh the application. Recent changes might have been lost" [Oddly, this last sentence is not visible until you try to copy the text!] [Also, some full stops (periods) would be nice, too 8-]

Are you having server problems today? When I "Refresh" it reloads and says "Connecting" at the top right but never connects. Everything else is working for me so I assume the problem is at your end.

Thanks.

If you had left your PC in sleep mode, then your session with the server must have expired. Can you please try to close this window and sign in again. Please let me know if the issue persists.

Thanks,
Sabika

OK, thanks, I'll give that a go as it's still not working.

My PC doesn't go to sleep mode, though - it's a desktop that is left on all the time (for overnight backups). XP SP2, Seamonkey 1.1.4.

Sabika, I get the same thing and my computer doesn't go into sleep mode.

And it happens after I leave the Computer unattended for any extended period of time..the same thing as rpb.

If you are leaving Scrybe open for an extended period of time, your session expires. Please close the window and sign in again.

Thank you.

Could you therefore support somehow renewing the session after it "expires"?

As a user I expect to be able to switch to another application, walk away from my PC, etc., and still have Scrybe running when I get back. It's a tool, and people will expect it to work like other things on their PC. If I leave Word open over night I don't expect to have to close it and reopen it when I come in in the morning.

Having said that, apart from that one day when there were problems and I logged this issue, Scrybe has worked fine when I come in on Monday morning, having left Scrybe "running" over the weekend, so I don't see why this can't be made to work.

Thanks

..I don't know about or understand the technology behind Scrybe, but surely you can't have the thing "logging" people out if there not "active" on the platform..especially when it comes to something like a Calendar..which you more or less keep unobtrusively open in the background.

People are going to get annoyed by being disconnected..

..cool..hey, net net, I think Scrybe is very well done and am happy to have it in my arsenal..that being said, with reference to my prior topic, the ability to "drag and drop" calender details right from the webpage and straight into the details box would be a huge improvement. The bookmarklets are a solution, I guess, but not nearly as time savings a one as the drag and drop method. Check out Evernote.com. You can drag and drop text into their application(organizer) from just about anywhere.....

Would you rather right click, copy, place cursor in bookmarklet box, right click and paste?(even with cntrl c/v, it's the same point)

Not me...

Just my opinion

Jono,

With bookmarklet, you do not need to right-click copy, or use CTRL+C, or V. You can simply select the desired text on any web page and click the bookmarklet button on your browsers link toolbar.

We are also working on something similar to grab data from desktop apps.

Hope this helps.

Ok, so how do I get the bookmarklet into my AOL toolbar?

From the menu, select View > Favorites bar.

Right-click Scrybe Bookmarklet, and select Add to Favorites from the pop-up menu. Select Favorites bar and click OK.

Once you have set up the bookmarklet, make a selection on any web page, and click Scrybe on your browser.

A window pops-up displaying your clipping. Make any necessary changes in the web clipping. Choose a label, if desired and click Update.

..doesn't work that way on AOL. You can't add the Bookmarklet to the toolbar. You can only add the whole Bookmarklet page of which the button is found on the top left. Therefore, on AOL, it stays burried in the favorites folder until I access it and then the button...yet another reason why drag and drop is the call......
