Hello,
Great app... still needs quite a bit of work, but it's a great start. I could really see myself using this all the time.
Here's a little one I've run into a couple times in the past few days. Actually, there are kind of 2 issues, but I think they might be related, so I'll post them together.
#1. Sometimes I see a yellow "Connecting" label in the header with a dot before it (starts grey, then turns yellow then red). After a few seconds I get the following dialog (the kind that's made in flash and greys-out the screen):
-----------------
Please wait...
Your network connection or the server is not responding as expected at the moment
You may be able to continue in a few moments if network communication improves
[Continue]
Otherwise you need to refresh the application.
[Refresh]
-----------------
The continue button is greyed out. My internet connection is working fine for other sites. Hitting refresh will restart scrybe and try to connect again, same problem. It will continue to be unable to connect until I close the window and log in again. Then it works fine. It *might* be related to having 2 computers logged into scrybe at the same time (I have a laptop and a desktop, and I'm experimenting with syncing my data between them) because it seems to happen more when I have both logged in, but I can't tell for sure, and it DOES still do it when I only have one logged in.
#2. Sometimes I get a popup (a real modal message box, outside of the firefox window) that says this:
-----------------
The page at http://iscrybe.com says:
-----------------
256: EmailSystem:user_undefined:::
[OK]
-----------------
Scrybe was minimized. When I clicked ok, then restored the scrybe window, I saw an on-screen dialog (the flash kind, with the screen greyed out) that said this:
-----------------
Please wait...
EmailSystem:user_undefined:::
You may be able to continue in a few moments if network communication improves
[Continue]
Otherwise you need to refresh the application.
[Refresh]
-----------------
It is the same dialog as before but with the user_defined message in there. After I hit refresh, I got the first on-screen dialog again (the one about the connection being down). And it won't connect until I close the window and log in again.
Some details:
Firefox 2.0.0.6
Flash 9,0,28,0
Win XP, SP2, all patches up to date.

If you are using Scrybe within offline mode, you can login on two different machines. However, Scrybe does not allow the same user to be logged in online from two different machines.
This is why you are receiving those error messages.

I'm getting the same error: EmailSystem:user_undefined::: and I'm NOT logged on on two machines.
I can log on fine for a while and then I get the error and the connection is lost. If I push Refresh, it tries to connect and never can. It says: Your network connection or the server is not responding as expected at the moment. I cannot log on again unless I close the browser window and open it again and log on again. Then it will work for a while and then it happens again. This is VERY annoying.
This error seemed to start with the latest upgrades to the system. It's been going on for a couple of weeks.
It happens in both IE and Foxfire, and on a Windows machine or a Mac.
But I'm definitely NOT on both at the same time!
Please help!
thanks,
carol |

Here's an idea... since the error message mentions email...
When I applied for and received an invite I used my Roadrunner email address. Since then I've changed to a gmail address and set that in my options. My email reminders are coming to the new, correct address but I wonder if there could be some lingering conflict between these two addresses?
As I said before, the error started only a few weeks ago about the time of the system upgrade and long after I'd changed to the new email address.
thanks,

Do you receive this error while you are working in the application, or after you resume working on the machine from a stand by or hibernation mode?
Thanks,

Yes, it only seems to happen when resuming after standby or hibernation.

It also happens, without going into sleep or hibernation, if the internet connection is lost and then resumed after some minutes. My cable connection often cuts out at my house so this is the only place I've seen this symptom.
